A cow attacks two men who killed minor girl in Gwalior

A minor girl in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh was stabbed to death by her father and uncle on Friday. According to Police, the incident took place at a shelter for women in the Hazira area of the city, more than 400km from capital Bhopal and is suspected to be a case of honour killing.

A nearby cow was disturbed by the commotion and charged at the attackers, injuring them. The attack on the girl triggered the cow’s  maternal instincts, as it’s calf was also nearby. The charge was captured on CCTV camera installed nearby captured the cow goring the attackers.

The victim, Sema was eloping with a 22 year old man called Sonu, against her family’s wishes. The minor’s father had gotten Sonu arrested and sent to jail. However, Sema refused to return to her village Pahadigaon in Morena district and was sent to the Woman’s shelter, as per the orders of the court.

Kalyan Singh and Lakhan Singh on Friday tried to persuade Sema to return to the village, but she refused, they stabbed her multiple times. Murder case has been registered against the two attackers who are currently absconding.

On the other side, Regional coordinator of women and child development department, Suresh Tomar, said an action would be taken against the NGO for negligence.
