Extending support to the cause of a free Balochistan, All India Radio (AIR) will soon commence a news bulletin in “Balochi” language for the people of Balochistan province in Pakistan.

Having received nod from the Modi government for the same, the bulletin will be reportedly produced by Radio Kashmir. The move comes after PM raised the issue of human rights violations in Balochistan, Gilgit and PoK during his independence speech this year.

Modi had also extended diplomatic support for the Baloch freedom struggle. India’s support to Baloch cause had irked Pakistani counterparts. However, Baloch leaders had expressed their gratitude towards the country’s for the warm gesture.

Meanwhile, it is also speculated that the broadcast of news in Balochi language would add to heighten tension between India and Pakistan.

“I think it is part of the government’s policy. Let’s see what kind of bulletins they run. I believe there is nothing to object to it as there are other languages also that are being run in AIR,” Congress leader Meem Afzal told ANI, in response to the latest development.
