Kollywood has a well-known penchant for attempting to repeat success formulas. This is true of genres, such as horror-comedy, of filmmaker-hero combinations and on-screen romantic pairings. Now, it seems, casting the same hero-villain duo is another way to chase success.
Aravind Swamy played the cool villain to Jeyam Ravi’s dynamic cop character in one of last year’s biggest hits, Thani Oruvan. Now Lakshman, who made Romeo Juliet, starring Jeyam Ravi and Hansika in the lead roles, is working on another project with Jeyam Ravi as hero and Aravind Swamy cast in the role of the villain. Jeyam Ravi will again be playing a cop in the film, tentatively titled Bhogan. Interestingly, his just-released film Mirudhan also has him cast as a policeman.

Hansika will be playing Jeyam Ravi’s love interest in Bhogan, teaming up with the actor again after Romeo Juliet which enjoyed commercial success.
