BCCI calls off Zimbabwe tour due to broadcasting and fatigue issues, but Indian fans are relieved
Hours after Team India’s humiliating series defeat against minnows Bangladesh, the BCCI has called off India’s upcoming tour to Zimbabwe, according to latest reports.
Under normal circumstances, this sort of news would upset cricket fans in India, especially those who enjoy watching the Men in Blue dominate hapless oppositions and Rohit Sharma break records.
But not this time.
Following their rather unexpected defeat to Bangladesh, Indian players and fans both seem to be in recovery mode – some of them literally licking their wounds. And not surprisingly, many have taken the news quite well.
‘Fatigue’ might just be a formal addition made by BCCI to the list of reasons simply not to sound too greedy. But considering India’s current form, calling off the tour still seems to be a good idea, as it’ll probably give them time to recover, reconsider their strategy going forward, and come up with a better game plan for the bigger challenges that lie ahead.
For what it’s worth, the news gave Twitterati a chance to come up with a fresh batch of jokes on Zimbabwe cricket and players like Ravindra Jadeja.

I was shocked to hear BCCI saying NO to earning money in favor of players health. But then I realised 1 Zimbabwe Dollar is only 16 paisa.

So India's tour of Zimbabwe is cancelled. In other words, R. Jadeja's chance of scoring tons n taking wickets to secure place is cancelled.

If fatigue and not Ten Sports is the real issue for calling off the Zimbabwe tour, it's a fantastic decision.

Right decision by BCCI to cancel Zimbabwe tour. India should stop playing against minnows like Zim, Bangladesh etc.
