Bengaluru is third most unsafe metro city in the Country, with Chennai being safest

Bengaluru which was once known to be a paradise is losing its touch over recent years. The city has been ranked as third most unsafe in the country.

According to statistics, 35,576 crimes were reported in Bengaluru during 2015, making it that third most unsafe city. Delhi took the top spot with 1.73 lakh cases, followed by Mumbai (42,940 cases).

Bangalore was followed by Kolkata (23,990) and Hyderabad (16,965). Chennai (13,442)

Was the safest metro city in the country, according to the data released by the National Crime Records Bureau.

With 188 murder cases reported in 2015, Bengaluru was the third highest after Delhi (464) and Patna (232). According to NCRB data, 777 cases of kidnapping and abduction cases were reported in the garden city, which puts it in the third spot, after  New Delhi with 6,630 cases and Mumbai with 1,583 cases. A recorded 112 rape cases were recorded in the Karnatak capital.

The silicon capital of India had majority of cyber crime cases in the country, with numbers reaching 1,041. Bengaluru was followed by Hyderabad (354), Kolkata (111), Delhi(90), Mumbai (26) and Chennai (29).

Bengaluru also topped the list Dowry-related cases and deaths with 714 cases filed last year, followed by Jamshedpur (157) and Patna (151).

Road accidents continues to be big problem in Bangalore. As many as 784 people lost their lives in rash or negligent driving in the city in 2015. Delhi recorded the maximum deaths with 1,339, followed by Chennai (897).
