Bihar’s deputy chief minister Tejaswi Yadav is asking the public to help fix bad and patchy roads in the state via Whatsapp.

People can now click pictures of roads that need repair and send it to a number (9470001346). The authorities will track down these roads and fix them.

“In Bihar, people can now directly WhatsApp the conditions of roads under the Output and Performance Based Road Assets Maintenance Contract (OPRMC) to bring more quality and efficiency,” Tejaswi, who is also road construction minister, tweeted.

Yadav has reportedly been using Whatsapp platform aggressively to ensure maximum engagement of people and to help concerned departments in fixing bad roads.

Yadav pointed out that using Whatsapp can make it easy for people to make complaints and also speed up repair works.

According to reports, Yadav has previously used Facebook to help an engineering student from Sitamarhi district to get his pending scholarship.
