BJP leader kills 4 stray dogs for barking at his van in Chhattisgarh

BJP leader and Pandaria’s Janpad Panchayat’s vice president Praygesh Tiwari was arrested after he shot dead four stray dogs. Times of India (TOI) reports that Tiwari killed the dogs because he was annoyed by their barks.

According to eye witnesses, three youths in a Maruti van shot a stray dog in Meghapara village. The same van also stopped near a river bank in Golhapara basti, where three other dogs were shot dead. The dogs were reportedly barking at the loud music from the van.

The bullets recovered after the autopsy were traced back to Tiwari’s licensed revolver. The police arrested the 28-year-old and he is currently being interrogated about the other two members involved in the incident. An FIR has been filed against Praygesh Tiwari for cruelty against animals under section 11 (D) of Prevention of cruelty to animals Act 1960 and Arms Act 1959.
