The Chinese ministry of culture recently announced that it would investigate into a number of streaming websites that host pornographic and violent content. And as its first step in tandem the ministry will ban any suggestive banana-eating content!
Reportedly, streaming sites that are increasingly becoming popular in China predominantly feature attractive women in revealing tops, miniskirts and stockings. Such content too will be banned.
77% of the viewers are men. 60% of the people creating such content are under 22 years and 26% of the viewers are below 18 years of age.
The new rule will require these streaming websites to keep an eye around the clock to monitor what goes up on the website.
