While there are actors and actresses vying to play James Bond and Bond Girl on screen, there is one James Bond who is being paid a humongous amount of money to return as the iconic spy on the big screen.

Daniel Craig, who has been the 007 actor since 2005, retired as the famous spy last year after Spectre and has no intentions to don the tuxedo again. He also said in an interview that he’d rather slit his wrists than play James Bond one more time. However, the makers seem to be hung up on the actor and want him for two more Bond films, and are ready to pay an amount that will make him the highest paid actor in the world!

The 48-year old actor has been reportedly offered a staggering $198 million (Rs. 1000 crore) to play the spy in two more films, before they phase in a younger, long-term successor. Craig has been part of four Bond films over the last decade – Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and Spectre. Actors such as Tom Hiddleston, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hughes, Idris Elba, Michael Fassbender and Tom Hardy were said to be contending for the coveted role, but only time will tell who will return to play Bond on the big screen.
