Veteran actor Dilip Kumar was admitted to a hospital this Saturday morning(April 16), after he complained about respiratory problems.

Reportedly, the 93 year old screen legend was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Bandra on Saturday around 2-2.30 am. The actor was moved to ICU, for close observation due to his age.

“The next 72 hours are crucial. He is under observation. We are keeping a close watch. He might have to be shifted to the ICU. It takes time for a patient to respond to the treatment in the same way as it takes three hours for the food to digest.” Dr Jalil Parkar told news agencies.

“He was suffering from pneumonia as well. His white blood cells had shot up. We thought it would be better to admit him to hospital,” the doctor added.

However, sources close to the family said that he was doing fine and there was no need to worry.

Dilip Kumar popularly called as Tragedy King was awarded with Padma Vibhushan (the second highest civilian award), last year for his contribution to Indian Cinema.
