Dozens of armchair intellectuals and ‘activists’ do nothing but rant on social media platforms. They hardly ‘act’.

Here’s a doer—a noble man who dedicates his time for a social cause.

A popular folk singer from Uttrakhand Narendra Singh Negi shared the story of a bank security guard called Brijendra on Facebook. Brijendra is a retired army man and now employed as a security guard officer at an Allahabad Bank ATM in Dehradun.

According to the singer, after his day job at the bank he teaches children in the evening.

Children—orphans, child labourers and those involved in begging—gather around him as he finishes his day job. Reportedly, he teaches nearly 24 children under the light of ATM counter. Apart from teaching the basics, he also educates them on the importance of leading a disciplined life.

According to The Logical Indian, the man has been teaching children for nearly 16 years. We salute this unsung hero who continues to help young India—with pride but silently.
