Google announced that it will offer free calls via Hangouts, Hangouts Dialer and Google Voice to Belgium and Turkey, following the terrorist attacks in Brussels. The free calls can be made to people using Lycamobile, Mobistar, Proximus and Telenet mobile carriers in Belgium and to all landlines in Turkey.

Google will also provide transit updates and a direct link to the Government Crisis Centre to people in and around Brussels through Google Now cards.

“We are deeply saddened and appalled by the bombings in Brussels today, and by the recent violence in Turkey. Our thoughts are with the victims of these attacks, and their families,” said Google in a blog post.

The blasts in Brussels on 22 March have reportedly claimed the lives of 30 people and have left 230 people wounded.
