People generally refrain from toilet talk, but going to number 2 is an essential part of life and if you have been using a western toilet, you probably have been doing it wrong. Yup, Indian toilets, which require you to squat before you do the deed is a more natural position and this has been scientifically proven.

When you sit on a toilet at a 90 degree angle, you form a blockage in the intestines, which forces you to extra pressure. However, squatting will straighten everything intestines out.

According to scientist, Giulia Enders, ““1.2 billion people around the world who squat have almost no incidence of diverticulosis and fewer problems with piles.”

Excessive strain can cause issues like diverticulosis and swollen blood vessels around your colon and anus. This is exactly why Indian style toilets are the best.

If you have no other option but to use a western-style toilet, don’t worry – just place a stool in front, with your legs rested on it. This should give you the 30 degree angle, which is a healthy position for defecation.
