Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Karan Johar did not receive too many positive reviews.

Although critics lauded the performances of Ranbir and Anushka, the movie as a whole, did not deliver on its promise.

However, despite the negative reviews, director Anurag Kashyap strongly defended his work in a long and heartfelt Facebook post.

“…Maybe our experimenting with the narrative didn’t work for most but i firmly believe in the film. This is the film i wanted to make and i am glad i got to make it,” he said in his post.

He thanked the cast and crew of the movie, and said he had absolutely no regrets.

“No i am not depressed or hiding, this has taught us a lot and is my absolute personal favourite, there have been no regrets whatsoever,” he added.

Reiterating his belief in the movie, Kashyap also urged those associated with the movie to have patience and not pay too much attention to negative reviews.

“Bombay Velvet has been worth all the heart ache and pain and a memory to cherish for life…The Applause or Brickbats do not matter, what matters is who is standing in the arena,” he said.

Kashyap added that it was certainly not his last adventure and promised to come back stronger.

“lets just keep playing the sport.. lets continue reinventing, lets give everything our best. and like Schwarznegger said, I WILL BE BACK..”
