IPS officer was found dead at an officers’ mess in Chennai on Thursday. Harish, 32, native of Karnataka was found dead in one of the rooms of the officer mess in Egmore.
Harish was working as an Assistant Superintendent of Police at Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-corruption in Chennai.
It is suspected that the officer committed suicide. According to reports Harish had been suffering from depression during his last few days. Reportedly he was also facing a departmental inquiry.
The deceased was a 2009 batch pass out from the Tamil Nadu cadre.
He had also served as the ASP of Madurai district in the past.
It is reported that the death would be probed by high ranking police official.
