Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union (JNUSU) president Kanhaiya Kumar, who was charged for sedition, will visit University of Hyderabad (UoH) after students protested Vice Chancellor Apparao Podile’s return on Tuesday. The students had earlier vandalized the vice chancellor’s office.

However, the Hyderabad police is unlikely to allow Kanhaiya to enter the university’s campus, given the law and order situation at the campus following the act of vandalism.

Media reports say that the Cyberabad police from Hyderabad will disallow any public programme that Kanhaiya is scheduled to participate in.

Communist Party of India (CPI) and students from UoH will jointly organize various public meetings in Hyderabad on Wednesday and Thursday. Kanhaiya was scheduled to address the participants. Quoting police sources, media reports said that the Hyderabad police planned to oppose Kanhaiya’s participation in any of the scheduled programmes. The media reports also said that the police may even take Kanhaiya into custody as a precautionary measure.
