Kerala State Film Awards: “Ennu Ninte Moideen” gets a raw deal

Kerala State Film Awards had a number of surprises and upsets this year—from Dulquer grabbing the best actor award to Martin Prakkat winning the best director award. What’s more upsetting is that ‘Pathemari’ was neglected by yet another prominent award jury and ‘Ennu Ninte Moideen’ did not win as many awards as the fans expected.

Pathemari, which tells the story of Narayanan Kutty—a character who touched many a malayali sentiment, had to settle for the best background score award.

It is reported that Nivin Pauly was chosen over Mammootty last year, because the jury thought that Mammootty was too good looking to play the role of a convict in ‘Munnariyippu’.

Ennu Ninte Moideen only managed to grab awards for best music lyrics, best music director and best sound designer.

The  same movie had grabbed nine awards earlier at the Asianet Awards, including one for the best film.

Controversy seems to be the theme of this year’s awards!
