Know your Dilliwala ‘boy’friend: 10 signs of a typical Delhi boy
If you thought we’re going to get you up,close and personal with the typical Dilliwali ‘girl’ friend only, you’re mistaken!
While it isn’t a good idea to judge people or observe them too closely (creepily), here are 10 traits of the typical Dilli ka ladka:
1. ‘Tu Jaanta Nahi mera Baap Kaun hai?’ Syndrome
Perfectly captured by most Bollywood movies, ‘tu jaanta nahi mera baap kaun hai?’ syndrome of Delhi guys is something you won’t miss!
2. Hinglish is his mother tongue
While they look all sassy and hot, the one language they prefer speaking in is Hinglish – well, most of them do. So don’t be surprised if you don’t hear a fluent British accent from them.
3. The ‘sticky’ fashion trend
And by sticky we mean the tight fitting jeans, and tshirts that could give the most body-tight dresses from the girl’s section a solid competition!
4. The MC-BC fad
Abusing comes as naturally to a Delhi guy as breathing does. And BC-MC are like Fleming’s Thumb Rule! Each sentence just has to start and end with one of them.
5. The morse code followers
With stricter rules coming to place, even though these guys aren’t able to use words like totta, patola, bomb anymore, they do manage passing comments or exchanging looks with friends in their very own secret morse code. Which BTW, is very obvious and they’re clearly not doing a good job at coding!
6. Making fake brands real
If purchasing nik rather than Nike or wodland rather than Woodland wasn’t sufficient, most Delhi boys go to Gaffar Market and get the latest fake gadgets at jaw-dropping costs. How cool can they be!
7. Forever hunger struck
You will never find a Delhi guy who says ‘I’m not hungry’ – unless they’re on some diet suggested by their gym!
8. The heavy drinkers
No matter how many shots you order in, they’ll most likely be in their senses by the end of the party. Call it their capacity or adulterated alcohol!
9. Party hard, dance harder
Most Delhi guys like partying, but what they really love, is dancing! Be it those smooth Jackson moves or a desperate attempt at doing a Hritik Roshan, you won’t find them sitting in a corner when the music is on!
10. The crazy freak
With the funda of ‘khao pio aish karo’ ruling his life, a Delhi guy is the epitome of craziness! But the good thing is, you won’t mind having them around.
