Meet LG G5, the world’s first modular smartphone

The South Korean electronics conglomerate has outdone itself with its new customizable flagship phone. The device features a slide-out battery, dual rear camera which work independent of each other (the first of it’s kind).

The bottom of the phone is where the magic lies – The LG G5 supports swappable and supports devices which LG calls “LG Friends”:

LG CAM Plus: A versatile attachable device designed to deliver a comfortable grip and convenient control of a stand-alone camera.

LG 360 CAM: A compact 360-degree angle camera equipped with two 13MP 200-degree wide angle cameras with 1,200mAh battery and 4GB internal memory.

LG 360 VR : A virtual reality goggle that works exclusively with the G5 to simulate a 130-inch TV viewed from two metres away.

LG Rolling bot: A drone that can that you can control with your phone and take pictures and videos.

Bang and Olufson unit: Which are attachment ment for audiophiles.

All these three modules need to be purchased separately.

Besides being the world’s first modular smartphone, it is a monster with highly buffed specifications:

It comes with a 5.3-inch quad-HD display (2560×1440 pixels) and features lways-on display technology that allows users to check time and date even when the phone is in sleep mode.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with 4GB RAM and 32 GB inbuilt memory. Get this, the memory can be extended up to 2TB via micro-SD card.

The trademark power button in the back, now has a fingerprint sensor to unlock the device.

The phone come with 2,800mAh battery along with Quick Charge 3.0 for rapid charging.

It comes with two cameras in the rear – 16MP primary camera and a second 8MP camera for wide-angle shots. There is also the 8 MP front facing camera for capturing selfies.
