A six-member gang attacked a mother and her son who were returning on a bike from a temple in Kozhikode city after the Shivaratri celebrations.
The two had stopped for food at a roadside shop. The assailants, who were at the shop, allegedly followed them on three bikes, blocked them at a deserted spot, and abused and manhandled the mother. They also reportedly slapped the son and took away the bike’s key.
The mother who noted the registration number of one of the bikes, lodged a complaint. S Aneez, P Suneesh, Muhammed Siraj, Jaffer Hassan and P Assim are the five men arrested.
