Christian pastor Sebastian Martin aka ‘Healer Baba’ who claimed to cure severe medical conditions like kidney malfunction and brain tumor, died in his residence in Mumbai on Wednesday reportedly succumbing to organ failure.
Sebastian came under limelight after his videos of ‘healing’ patients with his famous ‘Ra-ra-ra-ra’ chant went viral in social media.
“He had been bed-ridden for the past several months. We have recorded statements of many people, but there was no need for a post-mortem as he died a natural death” a Mid Day report quoted police. His body was buried on Wednesday.
His 18-year-old prayer collective named ‘Ashirvad Prayer’ centre was closed down earlier this year after he was charged under Anti-superstition’ laws.
Rationalist Narendra Dabholkar’s Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmoolan Samiti (MANS) filed a police case under the Blackmagic Act against the prayer centre.
He wooed large number people claiming that he wielded God-given-powers which made him capable of healing terminal illnesses.

In this video the pastor appears to speak inimically of Muslims and Hindus in while glorifying Christians. He takes the national flag of India as reference and goes on to interpret its tri-colour. According to him; saffron represents “rogue ” Hindu population, who takes up arm kill and maim, green represents “rich” Muslims and white (the colour of peace apparently) represents Christians.
He grins as he says, “God did not give the ‘Chakra’ – symbol of power and authority to neither saffron nor green. It was given to us!”
In the hilarious video, pastor Mullakara Devasiya from Kerala appears to do exorcism on a middle-aged woman. This act was widely considered fraud.
