It’s not just about fine dining always, is it? Gorging into a delicious juicy burger that’s coupled with generous amount of cheese, and not having to worry about dirtying your hands in public has a thrill of its own. Most foodies will surely agree!
Hoping to enjoy such an experience at Wendy’s, who recently made its India debut in Gurgaon’s Sector 29, was Delhi-based Pooja Kapoor. However, this foodie’s first visit to one of the world’s leading fast-food chains turned out to be one hell of a nightmare!

Pooja Kapoor found a fairly large earthworm in her mushroom burger and when she inquired with the manager, he replied saying that the earthworm might have been in the lettuce. (WTF!)
Following the incident, Wendy’s offered a meal for 4 at the restaurant to Pooja, but she politely turned it down saying, “Thank you Wendy’s for the offer, but I think I’ll pass.”
Ever since she posted pictures of the earthworm in her burger on Faceboook, Pooja’s wall has been flooded with furious reactions. Here’s what some of them had to say:
Tanima Gaur: Whaattt? That is just appalling. Sue them. File a complaint with the consumer forum.
Akanksha Arora: I ate their cheesy mushroom burger yesterday. I feel all sorts of weird things in my stomach now. Oh crap.
Himanshu Gangwani: You should sue these people. As these kind of food chain should be banned immediately for this kind of irregularities & negligence.
Chirag Goyal: Finally the hype ends. There’s a reason why Wendy’s are empty throughout the day here in the US.

Don’t be surprised the next time you visit Wendy’s and get a free earthworm or an exotic variant of the family absolutely free with the lettuce of your burger!
Wendy’s takes serious note of the incident
Following this incident, Folomojo spoke to Wendy’s India who came out with a strong statement promising to augment a more stringent quality control procedure in their stores.
Speaking to Folomojo the company stated, “We at Wendy’s India are deeply committed to our customers. Nothing is more important to us than the quality and integrity of our food.”
“This is an isolated incident involving one customer. We have taken the matter very seriously. We are reinforcing our stringent quality control (for lettuce prep) procedures (with our restaurant team),” adds one of the world’s leading fast-food chains. (Read the entire story here)
