Shobhaa De criticizes Sachin’s BMW gift to Rio stars, gets slammed on Twitter

Author Shobhaa De is is back – and she can’t get enough of India’s Rio contingent and can’t keep her mouth shut.

Recently De had drawn flak for her comments on the Indian contingent’s failure in grabbing more medals at Rio.

This time she zeroed in on our Rio performers and the good will ambassador Sachin Tendulkar. Sachin was all over in internet in India after he gifted BMWs to Dipa Karmakar, PV Sindhu, Pullela Gopichand and Sakshi Mallik on Sunday.

And she came out with her latest streak of rants in Twitter. She called the occasion an ‘Ad campaign’ for BMW and she went on.

She did not stop there and started questioning Tendulkar:

Here’s a small, annoying but pertinent question: Did Sachin T pay for the BMWs he ‘gave away ‘ to Rio athletes?

If not for anything else, De has not failed in attracting online trolls as usual. Her scathing attack on the BMW ‘campaign’ for Rio performers has gathered much criticism in social media.
