Telangana CM to present specially crafted ornaments to Tirumala deity Lord Venkateshwara

Soon after achieving a separate Telangana state and becoming its chief minister, Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) visited the Tirumala temple and offered a donation of Rs 5 crores to Lord Venkateswara. Now, on behalf of the Telangana State government, KCR has ordered new jewellery for the deity.

Coimbatore-based Keerthilal Kalidas Jewellers had earlier won the state’s tender to craft the jewellery at the lowest price of Rs 2,611 per gram.

Three magnificent ornaments made out of 22 carat gold at a total cost of Rs 4,92,17,350 are now ready. The ornaments weigh 20 kilograms.

The jeweller entrusted the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) with the ornaments. According to media reports, KCR is scheduled to visit Tirumala temple soon to formally present the jewellery to the deity.
