Nirosha, the Telugu TV anchor who committed suicide might have taken the extreme step because of a recurring stomach ailment.
In an unfortunate incident, Nirosha (23) set out to commit suicide during a video call with her partner in Canada and hung herself during the wee hours on Wednesday. The police found her dead in her hostel room in Secunderabad’s Sindhi Colony.
Nirosha’s father Radhakrishna is reported to have told the police that for his daughter the unbearable aches were recurrent and she may have hanged herself for the same reason.
Nirosha complained about the stomach pain at 11 p. m. on Tuesday during a video call with Ritvik—her partner. Reportedly, she told him that suicide was the only solution to the problem and set out to hang herself with her dupatta, even after Ritvik pleaded her not to take the extreme step. Twirling with pain, she soon disconnected the video call.
One of Nirosha’s friends told the police that a hysterical Ritvik had called her and several of Nirosha’s relatives in Jubilee Hills in an attempt to stop her from committing suicide. They informed the police and rushed to Nirosha’s room but the doors were locked from the inside. The police arrived at 12.30 a. m. and broke the door open, but found Nirosha dead. They had also reportedly found tablets for stomach ailments in the room.
“She used to call my parents every day. She usually discusses all issues with my father. If she was depressed she would have told him,” NIrosha’s brother Mahesh said.
According to Mahesh, Ritvik was due to meet the family in April to discuss details of their marriage. The family was aware of their relationship and had no problems with it.
