Every time Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said something outrageous, out-of-this-world, we were reminded of another person who did just that, but in a comic book…someone who made us laugh when we were kids and acted as a stress-buster with his striped friend when we were having a bad day.
You’re right, we’re talking about Bill Waterson’s beloved comic strip Calvin and Hobbes. Calvin, a 6-year old kid, had his own views on how everything was wrong with the world, how it would be a better place once he started ruling it, his take on girls and parenting and his irrational outbursts. Doesn’t this also sound like we’re talking about Trump? A genius figured this out and thus, #DonaldandHobbes was born.
