Quitting job and backpacking for a world tour is not everyone’s cup of tea. But this man truly nailed it. Believe it or not, he quit his job, saved for two-and-a-half years and travelled 60 countries in just 3 years!

WOW!

Here is a video of his adrenaline-rushing travelogue that would inspire you to backpack right away!

The 28-year-old shares his story on his Kickstarter page and calls his idea of backpacking ‘crazy’.

He got itchy feet when he started feeling that he is stuck in his job. He writes:

“Sometime during 2010, I began dreaming of quitting my job and traveling through Southeast Asia for three months. This idea eventually turned into plans for a year-long break. The whole concept was crazy: I had only traveled outside the United States twice – to the Bahamas and Paris. I was totally clueless.  I knew nothing about backpacking or taking a gap year and I had no idea certain countries required visas to be visited. But I went ahead with the plan anyway.

For nearly a year, I saved up money by moving out of my apartment and sleeping at friends’ places. At one point, I even discreetly moved into the building where I was working at that time and slept there. I sold much of what I owned and took on additional hours at work. On Sept 13th 2011, I got on a plane.”

This is how he made a stab at it. His plans of travelling for a year span out and he kept moving for three years.

The wonderful sights and sounds in Varanasi, the spiritual capital of India, had him in awe. He fulfilled his childhood dream of seeing cheetahs in southern Africa. To keep costs down, he hitchhiked, slept in airports and couch-surfed. He was mugged in Chile and his car toppled in the deserts of Namibia, but nothing could stop him.
