Soon after the demise of Rajesh Pillai (the director of the film ‘Vettah’), Mohanroop (the director of the 1984 film ‘Vetta’) passed away in a bizarre coincidence.

Vettah, starring Manju Warrier, Indrajith and Kunchako Boban, is a psychological thriller. While Vetta, a rare classic which was released 32 years before starring Mohanlal, Mammootty, Srinivasan and Balan K Nair, is a dark relationship drama. It was also the first time in his career that Mammootty played the role of a police officer.

The new movie was named Vettah with an ‘h’ to avoid confusion.

The director of the Vetta passed away just a day after the film’s release, and now the director of the Vettah follows him.
