A doctor of Indian origin was fired from her workplace—Jackson Health System—after the footage of her attacking an unfortunate Uber driver and his vehicle in Miami went viral.

30-year-old Anjali Ramkissoon had been on administrative leave since the video surfaced in January. She was reportedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.

Quint reported that according to a statement released by a spokesperson for Jackson Health System, Ramkissoon was terminated from her position.

It said, “Jackson Health System is moving forward with the termination of Dr Anjali Ramkissoon, a resident doctor. She is entitled to an appeal process.”

Anjali Ramkissoon, a four-year neurology resident at the hospital, is seen attempting to strike and scratch the driver, climbing into the man’s vehicle and throwing objects out of it—all the while yelling and swearing at him and trying to force him to drive her home without a reservation.

According to Juan Cinco, who shot the video, the driver had arrived to pick up another passenger but the medical resident jumped in the car and demanded that she get a ride.

“Once in handcuffs, she then tried kicking some of the police officers on the scene. It was only when they put her in the police car that she started crying, apologizing and claiming that she would lose her medical license (she claimed to be a neurologist) if she got arrested,” he said according to Quint.

The driver has so far opted to remain anonymous and has declined to press charges.

Ramkissoon though had later apologized for the incident.
