As part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s national campaign Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, the Gujarat government has come up with a unique way to celebrate Republic Day this year.
On January 26, this year, the most educated girl from every village will hoist the national flag in each government school. Each government school will be provided Rs 300 to hold the programme. The government will also honour parents of daughters who were born in 2016 so far.
The theme for the Republic Day celebrations in government schools in Gujarat this year will be Beti Ko Salaam, Desh ke Naam.
