“Aligarh”: A sensitive story striking a blow against injustice
The release of Hansal Mehta’s Aligarh is well-timed, coming as it does when the call for equality for sexual minorities is louder and clearer than ever before. The film about an Aligarh University professor whose privacy is invaded and life destroyed because of his sexual preference has won over critics for its sensitive story-telling and superlative performances by Manoj Bajpayee and Rajkummar Rao.
