Windows 10 upgrade has been a free upgrade till now, but that might change soon.

According to reports, Windows 10 upgrade will cost $119 (Rs. 8000 approximately), starting July 29, which would be the one year anniversary of the operating system.

Microsoft is planning to roll out a new update on August 10, which will be free for existing Windows 10 users. The update is believed to bring new features such as Windows Ink, Microsoft Edge browser extension and Cortona improvements.

Meanwhile, Microsoft has been receiving flack for automatically upgrading Windows 8.1 users with their latest operating system, without asking for permission. The company was in fact sued for $10,000 by a small business owner from California, after the unwanted update allegedly caused her system to crash.

Can this be a classic case of, “be careful what you wish for, you might just get it”, because users may have to pay to get Windows 10 after June 29th.
