Tom Moore, the man who brought to life the iconic Riverdale characters, died on Monday in his hometown El Paso, Texas. Moore began drawing cartoons while he was with US Navy during the Korean War. Soon after he signed up with Archie Comics in New York, where the cartoon saw the light in 1941. Moore was also the creative brain behind creating Jughead.

Folomojo pays a tribute to the legendary artist by whisking you away to the wonderland of Riverdale, where many of us have spent most of our childhood. Here are 17 things only Archie buffs would understand:

1. You may be too old to read comics, but admit it, your inner self still wanders in the fictional Riverdale, where only four seasons exist and where nothing, absolutely nothing violent or terrible happens.

4. Your true best friend remains close to you throughout as two coats of paint. And here’s a clue to find him/her: One who wears a grey crown beanie and starts drooling at the name of burgers!

5. The ones who often say “duh” at the beginning of a sentence, are possessive lovers. So, don’t flirt with their lovers unless you want to get beaten up.

6. A brawny athlete with poor grades in exams and a nerd who flops at physical education can be best friends despite the contrasts.

7. Sometimes pets, like dogs, are more human-ish than us humans. They too are thoughtful. And, Hot Dog doesn’t always make for a snack. You got me, right?

8. We can understand why you have this perpetual fear that one day your chemistry lab will explode all of a sudden.

9. Guys who wear a lot of hair gel are no better than slimeballs.

10. How we all wish, we had a generous Pope Tate in our neighbourhood and that Chok’lit Shoppe to sip soda and buy goodies for free. No wonder why it was Archie gang’s fave haunt in Riverdale!

12. Gays are as much handsome and good as any other boy.

13. Even the BFFs can be arch-enemies. Blame it on a boy! But yes, life would not be that alive and kicking without a love-triangle. B-A-V, you know, what I mean!

14. Here’s a clue to get the ladylove of your life who would love you the most. If she’s a 4-in-1, namely, a good student, athlete, cook and auto-mechanic, that’s your find, boy!

15. You never know what to choose: A dark-haired super hottie or a good-soul blonde? Veronica or Betty…Betty or Veronica…Veronica or Betty… and the dilemma continues in real life too.

16. But then there’s a Mr Lodge in every lover boy’s life. Isn’t it?
