Move aside Sonakshi Sinha, here’s KRK’s epic take on Deepika’s ‘My choice’ video

By now, most of you would have seen the Vogue Empower ad, better known as the ‘My Choice’ video, featuring Deepika Padukone and 98 other women.

The video, reportedly meant to encourage men to support and respect women’s choices, made a rather mess of its core message.

While some felt a strong connect with it, many felt it was loud and pretentious. So much so that Twitter reacted with a series of funny jokes using #MyChoice.

One of the many to react was Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha, who said that women’s empowerment has nothing to do with the clothes they were or whom they have sex with.

The actress, who hasn’t yet seen the video, didn’t explicitly criticise Deepika nor Vogue, but said that women’s position can be strengthened only through employment and other such measures.

While it’s a perfectly reasonable response from Sonakshi, we feel it’s a bit too late and inconsequential, considering Kamaal R Khan, the greatest champion of women’s rights in India, has already posted his detailed response to the video on YouTube.

Besides, who needs reasonable answers when the only answer that matters has already arrived from the only man that matters?

Like he always does, KRK has hit the nail with his words this time. And he has done the whole world a favour by not restricting it to 140 questionable characters on a website.

He has done it in flesh and blood through a nice, long video, questioning Deepika’s intentions, her upbringing, lack of morality and total disregard for all Indian values.

His proposal is simple: If Deepika can anything she chooses to do, so can I. From eloping with his neighbour’s wife to walking around naked, KRK eloquently describes the possibilities if he were to adopt the policy of #MyChoice.

Watch, admire and be enlightened.
